Overview

Are you inter­est­ed in becom­ing a Cer­ti­fied Sex Ther­a­pist (CST)? Or to add train­ing as a Cer­ti­fied Sex Coun­selor (CSC) to an exist­ing medical/health prac­tice? Cer­ti­fi­ca­tions are issued by the Amer­i­can Asso­ci­a­tion of Sex­u­al­i­ty Edu­ca­tors, Coun­selors and Ther­a­pists (AASECT).

As a Cer­ti­fied Sex Ther­a­pist Super­vi­sor (AASECT CST‑S), I can pro­vide super­vi­sion for both the Cer­ti­fied Sex Ther­a­pist and Cer­ti­fied Sex Coun­selor process­es. See www.aasect.org for details.

For the fol­low­ing pro­fes­sions, nation­wide: LMFTs / LPCs / LCSWs / PhDs

Dur­ing Sex Ther­a­py super­vi­sion, the licensed men­tal health clin­i­cian com­pletes the AASECT Cer­ti­fied Sex Ther­a­py edu­ca­tion­al and oth­er require­ments. A spec­i­fied num­ber of super­vi­sion hours are a part of the cer­ti­fi­ca­tion process.

Note: A men­tal health clin­i­cian may begin the process of cer­ti­fi­ca­tion pri­or to licen­sure (after obtain­ing degree), but the cer­ti­fi­ca­tion process may not be final­ized until after licensure.

The super­vised pro­fes­sion­al is the expert in their spe­cial­ized con­tent area (i.e., medical/other). Togeth­er, we focus on how sex coun­sel­ing knowl­edge and skills may be inte­grat­ed into exist­ing prac­tice for the ben­e­fit of patients.
