“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself
just as I am, then I can change.” – Carl Rogers
Individual therapy makes up the bulk of my practice. I enjoy the process of helping people know themselves more fully… of helping people take steps toward the lives they want to create, empowering them to know what that means and how to make it happen… and of helping people gain insights into stopping or reducing what gets in the way of that goal.
Some of the areas that bring people into my practice include:
Relationships with Others
• Improving communication and/or conflict management
• Conflict with family
• Family and early life issues
• Sexuality and/or sexual issues (see here)
• Parenting consultations
Relationship with Self
• Anxiety, depression and other mood difficulties (see here)
• Self-esteem/self-worth struggles
• Shame; strong inner critic
• Grief and loss
• Stress management
• Family and early life issues
• Sexuality and gender (see here)
• Serious mental health concerns
Other Existential Issues
• Life transitions
• Mid-life changes
• Identity exploration
• Meaning and purpose of life
